I Have No Future?

So you all must know by now I am living in Singapore right? Yeah? Well it has been a busy first few weeks hence blog blockage and silencio. I have been hunting for the perfect condo, eating all that Sing City puts in front of me and exploring all that the red dot island has to offer. So I am sorry for my less than less posts :( Business will be back to usual as soon as possible I promise. I move in this week so life will become a little clearer and less about Ikea! The vintage arrived last week too so I am so excited to start uploading my fabulous new vintage frocks to the shop which by the way is still having and going through its face lift. It will be well worth the wait ladies! 

When I am not in Ikea or other various furniture stores in Singapore I am having a lot of fun meeting new people, eating amazing food and sipping Singapore Slings. Thought I would share this picture from my weekend...I apparently have no future as the mouth was broken? That or I had my hand in the wrong end or something? 

Vintage Dress Style Inspiration

I have been gassing on for a while now about how I am going to get my act together and finally design and create my dream vintage dress collection and being based in Singapore seems to of put all my cards into place. I am surrounded by some of the finest seamstresses and tailors in the world and for the first time I can see my dream become a reality and it is both exciting and scary at the same time. I never thought this would be easy, but when you suddenly have the chance to create a dress of dreams the pressure can get to you. Which era? What colour? Fabric? Shape? Inspiration? Argh. So I have been collecting images and swatches over a long period of time and have started mood-boarding extensively which is one of my favourite things to do. See above! 


I love the idea of creating iconic dresses from the 50s and 60s....so please tell me what does your dream vintage frock look like? Colours? Fabrics? I find vintage fashion so inspiring, but I am finding it a little intimidating too. I would love to know what you all think? Do you wear vintage reproduction? Or would you rather stick with Vintage?

A ROYAL WEDDING

There has not been this many column inches given to the Union Jack flag since Geri Halliwell sang wearing a tea towel covered in the red and white cross back in the olden days. When things were great and the Spice Girls ruled the world. Those were the days...good times. 


I am in Singapore and cannot escape Royal Wedding fever so I dread to imagine what is going on across the pond. A Singaporean even asked if "Great Britain would be decorated in bunting"...I did not have the heart to tell her that most had booked a holiday over the two weeks of bank holidays and that not many cared too much for the Royal family apart from the obvious nuts who are already camping at Westminster. Nuts.
I have to confess I am no Royalist, but living abroad gives the UK a shiny new look. Fantasies of red buses, black cabs, tea at the Ritz that have come from meeting new people who have never graced our freezing, muddy shores or caught the Brighton to Gatwick train at midnight! This is becoming a problem.

Luckily I have found some fellow like minded Brits in Singapore who want to party and have the wedding on in the background. So on Friday night (due to time zones, the Royal wedding will be on when it is cocktail hour in Singapore)I along with some new friends will hoorah and ooh and ahh at the British Royal Wedding Parade.

Business as Usual

I have some pretty BIG life changing news...I am moving to Singapore. Leaving behind Buckingham Palace and afternoon tea for Singapore’s Botanic Gardens and noodles.

I am relocating east to find you better vintage dresses, fuller prom skirts and I even hope to start developing my own collection of vintage style dresses which has been a dream of mine since I started selling vintage dresses online.

You may have noticed that it has been very quiet over at Natasha Bailie Vintage Clothing Company and this is mainly due to organising the relocation to Singapore and of course the logistics of moving a house full of fabulous vintage fashion to Asia. I have also decided that if I am going to be seeing and experiencing new things then so should YOU, so NBVCC is currently having a facelift to make sure that your shopping experience is as glamorous as possible. I will let you know as soon as it is ready...I cannot wait for you all to see it!
