Natasha Bailie Launches 1950s Vintage Style Dress Collection

Here they are, my first ready-to-wear vintage style dress collection of 50s vintage inspired dresses, a dream I have had since starting my online vintage emporium 3 years ago.

Inspired by my favourite era - the 1950s - my vintage reproduction dress screams Mad Men's Betty Draper! I have picked the best features of my favourite vintage dresses from the thousands I have bought and sold at
Natasha Bailie Vintage Clothing Company, creating a cinched waist, full skirt and essential bow detail.

This, the first of my designs, comes in five different floral prints, all locally sourced in my new hometown of Singapore. The prints are limited edition, so you still get the feeling of exclusivity similar to when you buy vintage. I don't want you to bump into another Betty wearing your
vintage inspired dress!

It has taken me a while to design the perfect vintage dress as I wanted to create a vintage style dress that brought glamour to a gal’s everyday life. Women can wear this style to weddings, special occasions and vintage soirees, but I hope they wear my
50s inspired dress to nip to the shop for some milk too, topped with a cardi and flats.

After all, who says FABULOUS is just for Saturday nights?

All vintage reproduction dresses are available in sizes UK 8-14, so more people can enjoy vintage style glamour.

Free international shipping takes 7-10 days – but the vintage inspired dresses are worth the wait!  If you can’t wait that long, for an additional fee the dresses can be sent via courier and will arrive in just 2 days.

I would love feedback from you – what shape should I do next?

Limited edition prints - once they have gone they ARE gone!

Launching at www.natashabailie.com in June 2011

Vintage Dress Style Inspiration

I have been gassing on for a while now about how I am going to get my act together and finally design and create my dream vintage dress collection and being based in Singapore seems to of put all my cards into place. I am surrounded by some of the finest seamstresses and tailors in the world and for the first time I can see my dream become a reality and it is both exciting and scary at the same time. I never thought this would be easy, but when you suddenly have the chance to create a dress of dreams the pressure can get to you. Which era? What colour? Fabric? Shape? Inspiration? Argh. So I have been collecting images and swatches over a long period of time and have started mood-boarding extensively which is one of my favourite things to do. See above!

I love the idea of creating iconic dresses from the 50s and 60s....so please tell me what does your dream vintage frock look like? Colours? Fabrics? I find vintage fashion so inspiring, but I am finding it a little intimidating too. I would love to know what you all think? Do you wear vintage reproduction? Or would you rather stick with Vintage?

Able Grable's Fabulous Vintage Frocks!

"Able Grable is slang for a hot woman! At the time of World War Two if you were hot just like Betty Grable you'd be called an Able Grable." - Miss Matilda from Able Grable.

Miss Matilda from Able Grable has today launched her spectacular line of vintage reproduction dresses for this years sunnier seasons. I cannot help but feel optimistic about Spring after spying Miss Matilda's designs and wonderful vintage inspired creations. Now we need not care if the drizzle continues to pour, our outfits can shine through!

Made of the finest silks and satins, Able Grable truly inspires gals who are forever searching for fantastic vintage reproduction dresses. Able Grable takes inspiration from old Hollywood stars of the 1930s and 1940s and stays true to original vintage styles and patterns.

I have loved Able Grable from afar for a while now, I really appreciate and admire how much work goes into each one of her dresses. Miss Matilda is clearly someone who is really in love with the 1930s and 40s and takes great pride in her creations. I think you can tell from the fine fabrics and beautiful colours and prints used, Miss Matilda belives in quality and not quantity. Making only 12 dresses of each style, each vintage reproduction dress is limited edition making an Able Grable dress a must have item for your wardrobe.
The three dresses pictured above have just been added to Able Grable so what are you waiting for?
This is my favourite Able Grable dress...inspired by Hitchcock and created with Margaret Lockwood in mind. A 1930s silky vintage reproduction dress in plaid. This dress is called Miss Iris Henderson and can be found HERE. Also comes in bright purple! See Fleur De Guerre pictured above.(middle).
