Anne Hathaway Gives Good Hair in Love and Other Drugs

Posted on 12:53 AM by follow me

Now...I am not a fan of the 'Rom Com' or the 'Chick Flick'. I can certainly fake enjoyment to gal pals, which I have had to do on more than one occasion. I actually have it down to a fine art. There is nothing worse than the disappointed look in your favourite pals face when you say something like "I would rather tear out my own eyeballs 27 times before contemplating watching 27 dresses". Instead one should say "Oh I loved how there were 27 dresses and Oh when they kissed...".

However...I digress. You have probably seen the trailer for "Love and other Drugs" starring the dreamy Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway? Anne gets naked, Jake gets naked, she says "you're a good man" and he says "You have made me the man I am today" or something to that effect...right?

Well I am hear to tell you that folks, I have no clue why they are dressing this up to be a puke fest rom com because it is so far from it. It is well written, Hathaway's performance is as good as her hair...mind-blowingly good in fact. Gyllenhaal is brilliant and he takes his clothes off way too much, but the character seems sincere. The story is sad, thoughtful, real and tough which I like. The writing is very good, witty and entertaining. I could gush and gush about this movie until I actually end up telling you what it is all about. I won't, but please go and see it. You should also know that I never do movie reviews, I am no Barry Norman, but I want good people to see good films. So go see it. Both Gyllenhaal and Hathaway have been nominated for Golden Globes for their performances too, so you do not have to take my word for it. Listen to the golden balls.
