Remake of Cleopatra?
Posted on 6:43 AM by follow me
I don't know if I am late to the party,(where shall I put my coat?) but did you know that a remake is in the works for Cleopatra?
David Fincher (The Social Network, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Fight Club) is said to be remaking the 1963 classic starring Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra. Not only is another classic movie being remade and retold, but Angelina Jolie has been picked to play Cleopatra! First thing....predictable, secondly...what happened to the good ole days where people made entertaining original movies?
If I bump into another person who loved Mark Wahlberg in The Italian Job or Johnny Depp's Willy Wonka I think I may lose it. (I should add the people in question no nothing of Sir Michael Caine or Gene Wilder and were born before 85' - to add to my point).
I would love to know where you all stand on the Cleopatra remake? Are you excited? Should I be excited a whole new Bieber generation gets to see "Cleopatra?"
I do not think of myself as an authority on film, but I enjoy classic movies, good movies, well written movies, well acted movies, iconic movies like Cleopatra which will forever stand the test of time and simply need not to be touched.
