Teacup Chandelier?
Posted on 4:57 AM by follow me
I have made it safe and sound to Singapore, found a place to live and shopped till I dropped. I can officially confirm I am eating like a Singaporean...every 2 hours...or so. Doom for my figure!
I have been reading a daily paper over here to find out whats happening around the city and I also stumbled across a great page called "Sophie's Choice" where people write into Sophie and ask her for home and lifestyle advice. Simples right?
Anyways one of the questions was about teacups. A lady owned so many teacups, some were chipped and missing saucers and she had no clue what to do with them as she inherited them from a great aunt or something...you get the picture. Sophie then suggested turning the tea cups into lights for your house and explained how to do so...I was so impressed and the finish looks kitschy chic. Apparently a designer named Ivan Sim got a contractor to drill a hole in each saucer and teacup, turned them upside down and wired them with lightbulbs and they created a colourful lampshade. Cool no? Other ideas included 3D pictures where you stick your cup and saucer onto some fabric and frame it and then there is always the good old teacup candles. I love a creative upcycling idea. What do you think of these? Inspired or insane?
