I have a small collection of Victorian "motto"
cups that I have collected over the years.
The Victorians were very into "tokens
of remembrance"...oh , so dramatic and
sentimental were they...all those men
quoting Tennyson and the women swooning!









Actually, what I think is the coolest thing
about these cups is that they have survived,
relatively unscathed, for all these years...and
just what would a Victorian gentlemen think
of this, un-corsetted woman, being in possession
of this romantic token that he gave to some
demure creature over 100 years ago! :)
