A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to a Blog...

Posted on 6:23 PM by follow me

Well, today is the 1 month anniv (it's only been a month, using
the whole word, sort of seems like too much!) of this blog. But
for someone who doesn't even have a digital camera or a a
computer...
one month is a pretty big milestone!

It was about 6 weeks ago that I had never even had seen a
blog. I was trying
to find one called The Shabby Romantic,
that I had seen in a
magazine, but I couldn't get the name
right while Googling it…

and I ended up at My Romantic Home. As a talk radio addict,
the only thing I had ever heard about blogs was in relation to
political commentary…boy was I surprised!

As I went from blog to blog (stopping every few minutes to dab
at the drool) I was
amazed by all the great decorating ideas
people had…not for
foofy, expensive things, but creative and
cheap ways to beautify
your home, and since I have pretty
much decorated entirely with
hand-me-downs, Ebay & Big Lots…
this was right up my shabby
alley!!!!

So, with one insane thought ,and a lot of help from my
niece ("Just look at Blogger.com, it's easy", said she with a heavy
sigh. "Ok, I'm looking at it…now what?", I replied, staring at the
monitor and waiting for something cute to appear.) My
technodorkiness not withstanding and, a couple hours Tales From
An OC Cottage was born.

There's a lot to be done in order to raise my bloggerisma to the
height of the rest of you (like a new header for starters!) and to
become truly bloggerific.

I'll keep plugging away and who knows where I'll be on
the 2 month "anniver"!!!
