*We're Back!*
Posted on 5:20 AM by follow me
We arrived back home at the weekend but it is taking me a bit of time to get back into the swing of blogging again!
Anyhoo we had a lovely week although the weather was hot hot hot!!!!!
Everyday it was in the mid 30's in the shade (yes the shade) and got up to the mid 50's in the sun!!!! And there wasn't a cloud all week! Eeek!
So we didn't do a lot apart from laze around and relax and have the odd swim in the sea to cool ourselves off, it was just too hot to do anything else, walking about was unbearable at times. Of course we did lots of eating and drinking too!!!
So a few holiday snaps, I will try not to bore you though, so only a few.
This was where we stayed we were on the second floor and had a huge balcony, it was more like a villa as we had a suite.
The gardens that ran along the middle of the two sides of 'villas' were lovely and full of sweet scented flowers. This path led along to the outside bar, restaurant and pool.
Some lovely cats wandered around these gardens and there was such a cute grey kitten, and there was even a chicken or two running around! Odd!
This was our view from one side of our balcony as you can see the gardens were well stocked. The other side looked up the path and out over the gardens.
The sound and scent on the balcony was amazing, the sound of the crickets and insects and the sweet smell and that intense heat was just unbelievable it was like being in a film or a book and always reminded me of how I always imagine The Great Gatesby to be like when I read that.
You could even have your evening meal right there on the beach which was lovely, so of course we did a few times. I took this quick snap of James whilst we were waiting for our meal one night.
This was a field just near our hotel which you saw whilst walking along the road.
I was stood on a huge rounded bridge which was really steep to walk over whilst I took this photo and it is looking over towards the promenade and over towards the nearest town part with all its shops and restaurants.
We had a few days out at a nearby town called Bitez and went over to Bodrum too, which we attended the weekly market, which as James described was 'hell on earth'!!! Unbelievably hot and packed full of people and stall holders shouting at you to look at there wares!!! Not a wonderful experience but an experience none-the-less!
So we had a wonderfully relaxing time and the hotel was lovely ~eating breakfast in the outdoor restaurant whilst looking over to the sea on one side of you and the pool on the other was fantastic, and although the heat did get to you sometimes, we had a wonderful week.
Oh and before you ask if we did any of the water sports or biking or even yoga whilst there ~ no we didn't! Didn't I tell you how hot it was!?!!??!!
